Our Philosophy
Nurture / Encouragement
With trained educators of young children and early Jewish education, we work closely with families and value parents as an integral part of the education process. The Grove Preschool at Kol Shofar is dedicated to encouraging children to:
-
Develop self-esteem, to know that they are loved and have a unique place in the world
-
Respect all people and embrace our differencesï‚·
-
ï‚·Create a strong identification with the Jewish community of Kol Shofar
Engagement / Growth
At The Grove Preschool, children learn to face the challenges of their generation collaboratively and creatively through Jewish values. We do this by providing curriculum that addresses the needs of the whole child, including strong thinking skills, compassion and Tikkun Olam (healing the world). We cultivate passion for learning by engaging children in meaningful experiences. We embrace each child’s unique and natural way of learning, value social responsibility as much as personal responsibility, and prepare children with the foundational skills to be successful in school and in life.
Celebration / Belonging
The Grove Preschool is a home to the whole family, to share and grow our community together. We value intergenerational learning experiences, where students, teachers, and family members celebrate the cycles of the Jewish year together, both in and out of the classrooms. We encourage families to be co-creators of the communal experience, and welcome involvement as we align school goals and values with those at home.
